Bake Sale for March of Dimes

Well yesterday I did a bake sale with a dear friend of mine who works at the Benefis Hospital in Great Falls MT. She runs a bake sale for March of Dimes every year on Valentines Day and for the last 3 years I have been helping her. The first year Sophia was 8 months old and this year Tristan was almost 7. Both years I am sure we got more sales because of the happy babies!

I have been really busy with the miniatures os decided to start a week before the sale and bake. So I spent an entire day making 7 batches of shortbread and 4 batches of biscotti.
The next day I made a double batch of Cookie Dough Truffles. Amazing little things! Then onto the cake pops! Those were super fun!! I really wanted to try those, so I made two batches using a Chocolate cake and a vanilla confetti cake.

I also made some Salted Nut Bars (Dan's favorite) and some Rice Krispies Treats and used strawberry pink marshmallows instead of the white ones and added some mini mm's. They came out very pretty and yummy.

Last of all I made some ice cream cone cupcakes. An cupcake on an ice cream cone with frosting piped around it to make it look like soft serve ice cream. They were a hit with Sophia. She helped me decorate them with sprinkles when I was done.

All in all it was a fun time doing all that baking. It reminded me of why I love to bake and sometimes even if I don't think I have time, to just bake a little something. Makes me happy...
